Gone with the Wind relics hidden for decades…..

The photo is of one of the green shutters from the Tara facade and one of the two stanchions that stood in the lobby of the Loew’s Grand in Atlanta during the Premier of Gone With the Wind in 1939. The shutter had not been displayed since it left the old Selznick lot in Hollywood in 1959 and the stanchion had not been displayed since 1978 when the Loew’s Grand in Atlanta was damaged by fire and subsequently demolished.

Today the shutter is part of the current restoration and tours that I am providing, while the beautiful Art Deco Stanchion has been “living” with Sharon since the day I purchased it a few years ago.
